Film Reflection 1- Disruption
Film Reflection 1- Disruption
This documentary includes montages of credible sources, such as experts speaking such as International Panel on Climate Change in 2014. Climate change has an exponential effect, meaning it can spin out of control extremely quickly if action is not taken.
There is ample input from interviews of climate scientists and authors who vouch that change is happening now and we need to mobilize for real change. It posits the question: if climate change is currently affecting my livelihood, "what happens when my child is 40?" What does the future hold for our ancestors? Disruption also shows new stories from specific events such as Typhoon Haiyan. Assuming the audience trusts science, this film is very persuasive because it includes the opinions of reputable people and sources.
Disruption explains thatcost of pollution not paid by polluters, it's paid for by the people. This cost is distributed unevenly; low income people, people of color, and indigenous people bear the brunt of the damage inflicted by the entire population, especially the elite. Climate justice cannot be discussed without the acknowledgement that climate change exasperates every preexisting social injustice.
